What data we collect

Resumi generates a random device identifier when you first install the extension. This is not linked to your personal identity and is used solely to track your daily usage count and Pro status.

What we send to our servers

When you click "Resumi" on a YouTube video, the video's auto-generated transcript and title are sent to our backend API, which forwards them to OpenAI's API for summarization. We do not store the transcripts. We cache the generated summary so repeat requests don't require additional API calls.

What we do NOT collect

• Your name, email, or any personally identifiable information
• Your browsing history or any pages outside YouTube
• Your YouTube account information
• The videos you watch (we only process transcripts when you explicitly click Resumi)

Third-party services

OpenAI: Transcripts are sent to OpenAI's API for summarization. OpenAI's data usage policy applies to that processing. We use the gpt-4o-mini model with no data retention.

Paddle: If you purchase Resumi Pro, payment is handled entirely by Paddle. We never see or store your card details.

Local storage

Summaries, history, and usage data are cached locally in your browser's extension storage. You can clear this at any time via the extension popup.
